Mikayla's First Christmas

Christmas morning was so fun at our home! Santa was very good to all three of us! Mikayla LOVED the wrapping paper (and her toys)...but mostly the paper. After the presents we made cinnamon rolls and Shane put together toys and plugged in electronics. I am so blessed to have my family, I love them more than words can say!

Bible Study X-Mas Party

My highschool bible study ROCKS! Look at all these cookies they baked for our Christmas Party. I am so lucky they are in my life, they don't know what a blessing they are to me.

Swept Away

Shane and I went to Colorado the first of December for my company Christmas party. Mikayla stayed home with NanaGram (our moms). Oh it was such a blessing to be away with my wonderful, loving husband. We stayed downtown and went out to breakfast and nice dinners. We also played tourist and went to the art museum!!!

Oh Shane is my best friend and our alone time together is so rare these days. Can't wait for another weekend getaway!

Mikayla and her Cuz

Oh Mikayla loves kisses, especially from her cousin Grayson! This was over Thanksgiving, all of Shane's family came over to Moms for dinner. We are so blessed with loving family and rich relationships. I look forward to these two having SO much fun together over the years!

First Trip to the Zoo

Oh we had so much fun when Auntie Stephanie came to visit! Steph and I took Mikayla to the zoo for the first time. I think she enjoyed the giraffe's the most because they were just a few feet from her. Steph and I tried to get her to see the baby monkeys in the distance but she was too caught up with the baby humans right next to her.

Oh I can't wait to go again this summer!!!

OK Grandparents

Shane's grandparents moved to an assisted living home last year and are doing wonderfully! Shane's Granddad enjoyed showing off his granddaughter to all his neighbors back in November.

Our Neighborhood

We have a park really close to our house. I look forward to when we can walk there together and play in the afternoons. Also within walking distance is the elementry school that Mikayla will go to if we still live in this house at that time. Allen has really great schools (even if they do want to pay 60 million for a highschool football stadium). I only wish her Grammy taught in the Allen district!

Also within walking distance is Nana's house! We LOVE walking to Nana's, my whole family is spoiled with Nana so close. She is such a huge blessing in our lives!

"I've Got Gas..."

Now tell me, this has got to be the best shirt for a baby! One of my natural gas clients had it made for Mikayla. On the back it says, "natural...of course." I LOVE it!!!

Daddy Gets the First Dance

My dear, sweet, wonderful, beautiful Robin got married in October. My family all went down for a long weekend so I could be with her and help set things up. Shane spent his first over night stay alone with Mikayla and did such a wonderful job. He got up for the night feedings and took such good, loving care of his daughter. The wedding was amazing!! Second only to it being the best day of Robin's life, my favorite moment of the day was seeing Shane take the first dance of the evening with his little daughter, Mikayla Ann.

This was taken in September. I have a great group of mom's through church who all have kiddos right around Mikayla's age. Oh they are sooo cute together!! Mikayla and I both look forward to our fun Thursday morning play dates.
